general information
General Meetings are held the
first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The location may vary from month to month. Each meeting features regular club business, member introductions, a special activity, and some free time to socialize. Approximately three times a year, we arrange for an expert speaker to address issues of interest to members. The agenda for General Meetings held in February, May, August, October and December is listed below:
February: Mom's Night Out (dinner at a restaurant)
May: Anniversary Party
August: Pizza Night
November: Show and Sell
December: Holiday Party/Cookie Exchange
New Mom's Tea
A New Mom's Tea is held in March or April for new club members and new mothers of multiples. A committee of volunteers serves an elegant brunch in a member's home, and all the guests have to do is enjoy! The Club's newest members can get acquainted with one another and with committee members.
Big Sister Program
We have implemented a program that assigns veteran mothers of multiples to new moms as their liaison about issues of concern. Sometimes just talking to someone who has experienced what you are feeling is a big help. Your "Big Sister" will check in on you from time to time. However, feel free to contact your "Big Sister" with questions you may have.
Library
Our lending library contains resource materials (books, magazines, videos, etc.) relating to the raising of and caring for multiples. Members may borrow these materials, available at most General Meetings, free of charge.
Play Groups
Members are encouraged to join and participate in play groups. These regular gatherings of parents and their children of similar ages are a great way to socialize young children, teach them to play well with others, and enable them to learn from one another. These gatherings can also become a great support system for parents. If you are interested in joining a play group, you will be provided with a list of members who have children around the same age as your own. If a play group already exists for your age group, you will be informed who to contact to join that particular group.
