Now is the time to prepare for the Fall Yard Sale! Tags and hangers will be available at the General Meetings. If you can’t make it, please contact a Chair to arrange to pick up these items. Tags with strings are $2.00 for 100. Please read the do’s and don’ts list before tagging and drop-off! Drop-off is much easier if you have followed the guidelines, especially if you sort your clothing by size as you tag.

YARD SALE DO’s:
DO attach tags to clothes securely with safety pins or by tying strings through something on clothing. Please make sure the bottom half of the tag is easily removable.
DO PRINT your ID, item description, and the price clearly in indelible ink on BOTH the top and bottom halves of the tags.
DO personalize the bottom half of your tag next to your ID number (i.e., stamps, stickers, colors, shapes, etc.).
DO put all clothing on hangers.
DO price items in increments of 25 cents.
DO price clothing up to 25% of original cost, adjusting for wear.
DO sell items such as children’s clothes, equipment, toys, maternity clothes and household items. We do not sell adult clothing.
DO properly tag your items. Any improperly tagged items will be sold at the cashier’s discretion.
DO write an “X” on the back of the tag of any item you would like to donate automatically if we can arrange a charity pickup after the sale (see "Important Reminders" below).
DO bring your items organized and sorted according to size to the Drop-Off and put them in the designated areas at the site.
DO wear club T-shirts or a blue shirt and name badges to the Pre-Sale and Sale.
DO sign in when arriving to work your shift.
DO wait for the next worker to relieve you from your shift.
DO try to bring home-baked goods to Drop-Off.
DO collect your unsold items between 3:00 and 3:30 Saturday (see "Important Reminders" below).
DO have fun and meet new club members!

YARD SALE DON’Ts:
DON’T tear off the bottom portion of tags when you drop off your goods. Each tag needs to remain intact until the item is sold. The cashier will tear off the bottom portion of the tag at the point of sale and save it for accounting purposes.
DON’T rubber-band twins sets together. Price separately and place together on the rack.
DON’T forget to bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope so we can mail your proceeds. Include extra postage if you want your tags back.
DON’T tape over the bottom half of the tags or put tags inside packages.
DON’T put toys with small parts in an easily opened bag.
DON’T sell items in need of major repair or ones that are badly stained.
DON’T arrive late for your shift. Please, please be prompt for your shift! Remember, someone else is ready to go home!
DON’T be grumpy to customers or other club members (even at 7 a.m.)!
DON’T bring your children to the Drop-Off or Pre-Sale (they can stay in the car).
DON’T park close to the Hostess’s home; we want those spaces for our customers.
DON’T price your baked goods; the committee will do it.
DON’T attach tags to hangers.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Make sure the goods you are selling are clean and in working order. Our club would like to preserve its reputation for selling quality used items, not junk.
The sale of baked goods is pure profit for the club, so please begin baking, packaging, and freezing now. Then bring the goodies attractively packaged to drop-off, and the committee will price them for sale.
Pre-sale is for members only. If you need someone (e.g., a significant other) with you to make decisions, prior arrangements must be made with the Chairs.
Any member can sell at the Yard Sale; the club makes money by taking a percentage of each sale price. The percentages are:
0%   -- The Hostess
20% -- Members who work the sale
30% -- Members who do NOT work the sale
35% -- Members who sign up to work but do not show up

PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!
At this time, there is no charity available to pick up items after the sale. PLEASE plan on picking up your leftover items between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. after the sale on Saturday. If you cannot pick up your items, please arrange with another member to pick them up for you.
